AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Authors wishing to contribute to Muntaqa Perlis: Journal of Islamic Heritage And Contemporary Studies should adhere to the following guidelines:

Manuscript Format

  1. Articles may be written in Malay, English or Arabic.
  2. Length: between 5,000 and 8,000 words.
  3. Use Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel), font type Times New Roman, size 12 and Font Traditional Arabic, size 16. Tables and figures are to be done using Font Times New Roman, size 8.
  4. Each Arabic word must be transliterated using Font: Times New Roman Transliteration (if the article is in English or Malay). If the article is in Arabic, the footnote and bibliography must be transliterated using this font.
  5. References are being made according to The Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago).

Article Structure

  1. Title
    The title must be clear, concise, and reflect the main content of the article. Avoid overly general titles. Use important keywords.

  2. Author(s) & Affiliation(s)

    The full name(s) of the author(s) should be listed below the title:

    Include academic position or institutional affiliation (e.g., university, department, agency).

    Provide the email address (especially for the corresponding author).
    Example:
    Emi Yusmidar bt Md Yusoff
    Department of the Mufti of Perlis State, Malaysia
    emiyusmidar@muftiperlis.gov.my

  3. Abstract (200–250 words, bilingual)

    The abstract should summarize the objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions of the article. It should be between 200–250 words and provided in both English and Malay.

  4. Keywords (3–5 terms)

    List 3–5 key terms that represent the main topics of your article. Example: Islamic Communication, Fatwa, Aqidah.

  5. Introduction

    Introduce the topic, context, and background. Clearly state the research problem, objectives, and significance of the study.

  6. Literature Review

    Discuss relevant past studies and theories. Highlight the knowledge gap that your article seeks to fill.

  7. Methodology

    Explain your research design, sampling method, data collection tools, and techniques of analysis. Ensure clarity for replication.

  8. Findings & Discussion

    Present the results of your study with appropriate tables, figures, or themes. Discuss how the findings relate to past literature and theoretical implications.

  9. Conclusion

    Summarize key findings and their implications. Suggest future research directions. Avoid simply repeating content.

  10. References

    References are being made according to The Chicago Manual of Style (Chicago).
